As the Social Media Editor for The Baylor Lariat, I developed and implemented strategic social media plans to increase engagement and expand the reach of the college newspaper’s platforms. By analyzing audience insights and trends, I crafted content strategies that resonated with readers, ensuring that our posts were both informative and engaging. I scheduled and published content across multiple platforms, maintaining a consistent and timely flow of news, features, and updates. Through my efforts, I helped grow The Baylor Lariat’s digital presence and fostered stronger connections with the Baylor community.
In addition to content planning, I actively covered live events, including sporting events, breaking news, and art features, to provide real-time updates and multimedia coverage. Whether capturing key moments at a game, reporting on developing stories, or highlighting student achievements, I ensured that our social media platforms delivered timely and compelling content. This role strengthened my ability to work under tight deadlines, think creatively, and engage audiences through dynamic digital storytelling.
